Expectant from all over the world will be able to witness the dance in a way that is far from the conventional, rather tied to something professional.

Over the years, we have had contact with the salsa and bachata music genres. However, the vision we probably know is light years away from what it represents today.

Salsa has been a time to recognize, recreate, remember and honor every human root.

It is not just a dance style, it is not just a music genre, it is the purest and most graphic representation of our history.

This is present in every dancer who decides to attend this great event.

How did the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival begin?

In 2015, it was decided to create a platform for those dancers who wanted to take their training to the next level.

From having parameters and categories that segmented each competitor, to having a panel of international juries with the necessary skills to evaluate the performance of each of the dancers.

Since that year, the edition of the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival has been repeated, each year with more participation of spectators, and of course dancers with the illusion of taking their dance to stratospheric levels.

During the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival, there are not only dance competitions, but there is also an extensive billboard of workshops mambo, mambo fusion, bachata, kizomba, afro, Afro Cuban, and more.

All of this is taught by world-class dancers, all to give a taste of how and how dance has evolved in different parts of the world.

After workshops and competitions… this goes on!

The dance does not end, and so much is the energy of the participants of the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival.

After having competed and taking workshops, they prepare to receive with love, gratitude, and applause international shows of dancers with impeccable trajectories.

In this list, we can find the great master Fernando Sosa, Adolfo Indacochea, the great Adrian, and Anita, the great Iván Valdespino.

They are accompanied by national talents such as Lorenita Andrade, Maritza González, Ernesto López, María Catalán, Jorge Martínez, and the bachateros Gerardo and Madian, among many others.

This is a magical moment for the attendees of the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival, to see every movement, step, technique, and musicality mixed with incredible humility, charisma, and fun of every professional dancer who decides to share it with the public is simply to recognize, value and commemorate our roots and past.

Social? Is there more?

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, after almost 15 hours of competitions, workshops, and shows, the participants of the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival prepare to give even more: the hour of social.

The social is a common party between the salsa and bachata community where the protagonist is the dance, where there is no other purpose other than to dance until the feet give no more.

For this, the Oaxaca Salsa and Bachata Festival are given the task of looking for the best DJs that manage to make the dance floor something more than just dancing, you must feel, and above all, enjoy.

This is what social is all about, the rules don’t matter here, the technique doesn’t matter, what fills the heart of the salseros is the passion and the taste to share with hundreds of people this incredible dance full of history and tradition.
